Riders across the city have been organizing for better public transportation for years and won’t stop now. Riders have won more affordable fares, more accessible transit, and just recently Mayor Mamdani announced a bus plan that will put the fast in his fast and free promise.
There’s a lot that goes into making the bus fast, and in order to hold the Mayor accountable to his plan we want to learn together about what really needs to happen to make our buses as fast as we deserve. And we know that fast buses aren’t an isolated dream. Public transportation connects every social justice issue and without accessible, affordable, and reliable public transportation we will never achieve true liberation.
Join us at the People’s Forum on Saturday, September 12, for our 2026 Bus Riders Summit, we’ll learn about the how and the why. We’ll have discussions about bus rapid transit, social justice, organizing, and collective action.
