Riders across the city have been organizing for better public transportation for years and won’t stop now. Riders have won more affordable fares, more accessible transit, and just recently Mayor Mamdani announced a bus plan that will put the fast in his fast and free promise.
Fast and reliable buses aren’t an isolated dream — improving public transit intersects with every social justice issue, and it’s key to building a city that is more connected, accessible, and affordable for everyone. There’s a lot that goes into speeding up the bus, and in order to hold the Mayor accountable to his promises, we’ll learn and strategize together about how to win the buses we deserve.
Join our Bus Riders Summit at the People’s Forum on Saturday, September 12, for a day of food, fun, workshops, and organizer trainings. We’ll learn about the how and the why of better buses, and discuss social justice, organizing, and collective action.
Please note: This event is free; however, advance registration is required to attend. Registration will close on Friday, September 4.
